EURUSD trading plan:
Germany should impose further restrictions to try to stop a fourth wave of coronavirus infections, outgoing Health Minister Jens Spahn said. The surge in infections comes at a difficult time as Chancellor Angela Merkel is preparing to hand over to a new government after a national election in September. Spahn said more public spaces should be restricted to those who were vaccinated or recently recovered from COVID-19 and also had a negative test. This is a negative signal for the European currency. Additional support for the bears will be provided by the downward trend in gold, since the precious metal and the euro are correlated. The metal has slumped 4.9% from last week's five-month high on expectations that newly renominated Fed Chairman Jerome Powell could accelerate the pace at which the central bank normalizes monetary policy amid surging consumer prices.
