WHAT IS ECN ACCOUNT?

ECN is the abbreviation for the Electronic Communications Network. This type of account is quite new in the Forex market. It allows traders to trade without intermediaries. ECN trading is formed from the application of a trader who is ready to buy or sell a particular trading instrument at a specified price. Let’s find out how it works. All applications go to a common base — applications book. From this book, trades are chosen and made only in the case where a supply and a demand match. Thus, the feature of the direct trading is the fact that transactions are made by market mechanisms and according to mutual benefits. Spreads will be floating and will vary depending on the demand and supply prices.

The main advantage of this type of account is the ability to use scalping strategy without any restriction from broker’s end. In addition, the ECN account does not imply requotes, and allows any trader to trade at market prices, which are formed by market participants. ECN account is also called professional as usually traders with big amounts use this account.
