HSI is the most influential index on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The index was founded in the second half of the 20th century (1969). HSI includes 40 leading shares of the Hong Kong companies, the main criterion for which is the level of capitalization. Currently, this index is 65% of the total share of stocks registered on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. All HSI participants are divided into 4 subindexes: Industrial sector and trade; Financial services; Public services; Real estate industries.
