U.S. stock indexes after investors cheered positive economic data and the White House said it was resuming talks on a major social spending bill with a senator crucial to passing the legislation. The so-called "Santa Claus rally" is the last five trading days of the year and the first two of the next year, when stocks often are higher. December is widely known as one of the best months of the year for stocks, but most don’t realize that the majority of the gains happen in the second half of the month. The U.S. Commerce Department revised upward its third-quarter economic growth measure and activity had since picked up, putting the economy on track to record its best performance this year since 1984.

Investment idea: buy 114.03 and take profit 114.57.
